ACTIGEL Attapulgite is a cost-effective rheology modifier and thickener for viscosity control.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION:

ACTIGEL is a specially processed Attapulgite - A hydrated magnesium aluminosilicate clay mineral.

APPLICATIONS:

RECOMMENDATIONS:

To use in tape joint compounds where sag resistance on a vertical surface is required to provide improved feathering and a smooth and scratch-free surface for painting
Usage levels of ACTIGEL typically are 0.2% to 2.0 % of the weight of the system.
However Optimal levels are determined through a series of laboratory tests for each formulation type.
ACTIGEL is subjected to High shear in aqueous formulations
ACTIGEL Does not require heat for dispersion

FEATURES

The highly thixotropic nature of ACTIGEL products gives formulators a cost-effective way to develop coatings with increased sag resistance and decreased syneresis without compromising leveling and film build.
The costly HEUR thickener can be reduced by 10% and replaced with 0.5% ACTIGEL on total Formulation.
Assist in syneresis control, sag resistance, anti-settling, leveling, and film build.
Easy to disperse in aqueous and solvent-based systems.
Compatible with most additives in varied chemical and physical environments.
